Description: Very rare original antique 1800 children's ornithology book, "Visits to the Aviary for the Instruction of the Youth." The book is overall in good condition with some minor signs of wear and age. It lacks the frontispiece illustration. The covers have some moderate soiling and wear. The binding is good and sound. The interior is lightly toned from with some occasional foxing and grubbiness. There is a neatly written name inscription in fountain pen to the front flyleaf. Along with that there may be the very occasional page with some kind of other minor imperfection, such as a creased corner, small chip or tear, light bit of soiling, minor interior crack, etc. Generally though, it's a good copy. The book is a small slim volume which measures approximately 5 3/8 inches by 3 1/2 and is 136 pages long with 2 pages of ads at the rear.
