Anti-Communism Cinderella Stamps Poster Labels Ukraine (72), Russia (20), Lot=92

Description: A collection of 92 Ukraine & Russia Cinderella anticommunist poster stamps labels (also called Cinderella labels, poster stamps, poster labels) 92 Anti Communist Cinderella Stamps, as follows: Ukraine (72) & Russia (20) Anti-communist issues used by the underground in letters to Soviet officials, among other things. Exact era is unknown, believed to be 1960s. I have reviewed, to the best of my ability, all 92 items, which are described in groupings below. All are unhinged (& have never been hinged). Most are mint condition with no changes or alterations unless otherwise indicated. Some have been overprinted (due to currency and denomination changes) and a few bear cancellation marks. Until my review in preparation of this listing these Cinderella stamps have always stored in glassine envelopes. See photographs and review the descriptions below. The 92 are shown as a group on the main photograph (black background). Each of the 92 is shown on the 3 photographs that follow. The Cinderella labels were not stored this way over the decades. They were stored in glassine envelopes. I placed them on these pages to make it easier for me to photograph the entire listing and to keep each category separate until I could photograph the labels spread out by category. All are ‘singles’. Some were printed at the corner or one edge of the printed paper and have retained the perforation connecting the stamp to the edge of the paper (indicated) Some have overprinted currency type & denomination amounts (indicated) Some have what looks like full or partial cancellation stamps (indicated) Within each grouping, I indicate any deviations from a mint condition as well as if there are any duplicates within a sub-grouping UKRAINE ( YKPAIHA): total 72 -10- Dark orange rectangle. Images all different. Denom. From 50 to 500. 6 have perforated edge attached. -3- Light orange squares. Images all different. Denom. 50 to 500 K -10- Light orange triangles. Den 20 K to 1000 K. 4 have the dove sitting on an E image,. Rest vary with no other duplicates. Two bear overprints of an unknown shape. -22- Blue triangles. Images vary. There are 2 of the dove on the E. Both of those have a red/maroon overprint. Den 5K to 600 K -8- Pink triangles. Images vary. 3 are dove resting on E. Of those two bear a red overprint. Den 20K to 1000K -6- White triangles. No duplicate images. Denom 35k to 1000k -2- Dark orange triangles. Dove on E (both) denom 40k, 50k. Both have blue overprints -3- Blue yellow red stamps. Phoenix rising out of flames(?) below. Two have overprints (one is design, one is a design and 20) -4- Cream stamps with blue/purple image (bird). Three have overprint of 50K, one has 500. All have a partial cancellation stamp. -1- Large blue rectangle, soldier on horse, 500, overprint. Cancellation stamp. -1- Small blue rectangle, woman headdress, was 30, then 500 overprinted. Partial cancellation stamped -1- Large orange rectangle. Man wielding axe with wife and child. Overprint 3250. cancellation -1- Medium orange rectangle stamp./ man holding gun in air . 250 overprint, partial cancellation stamped RUSSIA (POCCNR): total 20 -3- Orange squares. Den. 75 to 1000 KON. Images vary. -2- Orange triangle. Dove resting on an E. Den 25 to 30 KON -4- Light orange. Den 25 to 30 KON. Dove resting on an E. Two have a symbol overprinted. -4- Pink triangles. Den 25 to 30 KON. Dove resting on an E. Two have a red overprint. -5- Blue triangle. Two with dove on an E. The remaining 3 vary. Denom. 25 to 500 KON -1- Blue rectangle. Buildings. Shield. 10 KON. Printed in blue/purple. Upper left corner shows cancellation (part of). Overprint is 500 in blue -1- Orange rectangle. Printed in dark blue/purpl3e. EUROPA 1961. 20. Overprint in blue 250. Cancellation right side. Definition: In philately, a Cinderella stamp is "virtually anything resembling a postage stamp, but not issued for postal purposes by a government postal administration". Cinderella stamps are generally privately produced labels that look like a postage stamp but are not actually one. The items in this listing were issued as anti-communist issues to be used by the underground in letters to Soviet officials, among other things.
