She attended junior school at Midlands Christian School (Gweru) and secondary school at Arundel School (Harare). She holds a bachelors degree in Biomedical science from University College Roosevelt in Middelburg, Holland with immunology internship under University of Amsterdam. She is currently doing MSc Biomedical-Science in Germany. Yolanda began writing as early as 1996 in grade 3 and participated in the Girls College Literary competitions attaining First grade Prose and The national institute of allied arts attaining. First Grade Poetry and Second Grade Prose. In High School she took part in the monthly poetry competitions from Forward Press and after joining Young Writers at the age of 16 her first poem titled "A love story" was published (2005). Her second poem titled "I have a dream" was published in 2006 in an anthology titled "from Around the World Volume 11." Since then she has been published in 12 anthologies and has featured in 15+ literary magazines from Kenya, Nigeria, USA, UK, Turkey, Ghana, Netherlands, India, South Africa and Botswana. She also holds 3 certificates of Poetry writing distinction awarded by Young Writers Forward Press. 2012 she had the honour of writing the synopsis for TAFFROCK ENTERTAINMENTs first short film "Dystopia Paruzevha.". In 2014 she was awarded a certificate for being amongst the top 10 entrepreneurs for JCI Zimbabwe Creative Young Entrepreneur Award.
