Description: Ann Hathaway- "The Intimate Ann" (12" Vinyl LP Record) (Motif ML 501) 1956-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------(Cover & Record= VG) (SEE PICTURES) ***Album cover has a split seam on the bottom & staining on front & back &there is a small sticker on the front of cover*** Ann was born Betty Ann Solloway in Gloversville, NY in 1925. She had worked with Georgie Auld and Ellis Larkin bands and even had the good fortune of participating in a March 1949 CBS-TV studio jam with Miles Davis, Charlie Parker and others. Ann was associated with Cafe Society in New York City which was the city's first integrated nightclub. I'm not sure what became of her in the 1960's on but my Dad met and talked with her back in the 1980's at a bar that she ran. She passed away in Gloversville and is buried in the Union Rural Cemetery in Mayfield, NY. Sadly, she is one of the many forgotten, but talented and great singers in their time. ***Most of the proceeds from my eBay listing sales will go to support our peaceable kingdom here, The Cat Sanctuary***
