Description: "Molly's Party Pinafore & Birthday Crown" #MBO was manufactured for the 18" American Girl historical character doll Molly McIntire in China for the Pleasant Company as part of "Molly's Collection." Introduced in 1987, it was retired in 2013. The set was re-released in 2022 with the name "Molly's Birthday Outfit." This outfit was purchased by its original owner in 1998. Molly's party dress outfit is complete with pinafore (wrinkly from storage), "Happy Birthday" crown, and white nylon socks in baggy. Included are its original "The American Girls Collection" #MBO plastic garment bag, hanger, and the "Molly's Birthday Story" Brochure." Though unused, please be aware that the front bodice of her pinafore sustains a yellow spot, and the pinafore's backside bodice also sustains further spotting from storage. (Transfer from crown?) Molly's birthday outfit presents a fascinating glimpse into the clothing styles and customs of young girls at the end of the World War II era and into the early post-war years.
