Description: 2024Nov28 -- I am TOP RATED on this marketplace with a current 12-month FEEDBACK rating of 100%, and I offer Combined Shipping. See my last 2 pics for my eBay Seller Level and eBay Feedback. Note -- If you plan on buying several items on different days please do not pay immediately. Instead keep the items in your shopping cart and when done buying request an invoice from me for combined shipping. Presently the ebay shipping algorithm is not properly combining shipping. For shipping I have specified a handling time of 10 business days. I purchased a small lot of 759 and 760 crossing signals for rehabilitation and resale. This 759 crossing signal is one of them. I have for sale an American Flyer model 759 crossing signal with bell which I have enhanced for separate (independent) light bulbs operation. This crossing signal is in very good condition and without any unresolved issues, and the stanchion & light bar & crossbuck are tight on their mountings, with being loose a common problem. Included are 2 mounting screws and two 14v light bulbs, your choice of painted solid red (new) or transparent red (used), one of each shown in the pics. Also included is a short length of rubber hose (without the bulb) to ease any future bulb replacement, which otherwise doesn't seem to be humanly possible if a bulb is tight, see pic #7. In addition I will apply some silicone dielectric grease to the bulbs' threads to ease any future bulb replacement. I've included a 759 box (see pic #8) which is in reasonably good condition and which has the insert for securing a 759 crossing signal. I will ship this crossing signal with its shed not mounted to its base in case you might need to adjust the bell after its shipment treatment. There are a few small areas of chipped paint on the base, see pic #1. This 759 would rate rate cosmetically as C7 - Excellent but I've rated it as C6 - Very Good because of the "May have minor parts replaced" clause. The enhancement consisted of ... o Converted a non-insulated Fahnestock clip to insulated.o Added a new non-insulated screw terminal to the base.o Cut a slit in the metal strip connecting the two light bulb sockets.o Drilled a 1/16" hole in the stanchion.o Threaded a 30gauge wire down through the stanchion.o Soldered said wire onto the short part of the now-cut metal strip.o Connected said wire to the newly insulated Fahnestock clip.o Added some spots of solder to the riveted electrical connections. AF riveted electrical connections are notoriously weak and frustrating.o Painted flat black the lights crossbar where the spots of solder were added. Nothing you couldn't do yourself if you have the parts for the new screw terminals, the necessary tools and the skills to use, some 30gauge wire, and the patience to thread said wire. Or, much easier, you could just buy this one. Check out the video of this enhanced crossing signal with bell in operation at 16v with a flasher circuit and take note of the clear "Ding" from the bell. With a flasher circuit the crossing signal presents a much more attractive and realistic operation compared to the usual method of using wheel track trips to erratically flash both light bulbs and ring the bell. The clicking sounds you will hear are from the relays on my custom flasher circuit. The flasher circuit used in the video is my custom design. It consists of a latching relay (12vdc), a flasher circuit PCB (12vdc) from China, and 2 buffer relays (12vdc) to switch 18vac for the crossing signal bulbs. Any kind of track trip can be used to latch the relay well before the crossing, and likewise another track trip of any kind can be used to unlatch the relay well after the crossing. NOTICE -- The flasher circuit shown in the video is not a part of this deal. If you don't have a fancy flasher circuit you could use two wheel-type track trips (AF model 696) spaced 1/2 car length apart, each one wired to flash one of the two 759 bulbs, and one of them will ring the bell.
