Description: First edition, first printing of Walter Jon Williams first published science fiction novel, Ambassador of Progress: A Novel of Human Destiny. The book sold well enough to have a second printing in 1987 though it was never published in hardcover. Both the cover and the author's inscription attest to this being the "first publication anywhere." Williams went on to a long and illustrious career in science fiction and also has written historical fiction. He has won two Nebula Awards from the Science Fiction Writers of America (SFWA) the Sidewise Award for Alternate History and been nominated for five Hugo Awards. Signed copies of this novel, especially from it's first print run, are rare. The copy is in Very Good condition, binding tight and square, some minor shelf wear and tanning to the pages as one would expect in a book of this age. There is one chip to the edge of the back cover. See pictures for details and message with questions. From a smoke and pet free home. Free shipping with USPS Media Mail. Reasonable offers welcome
