Description: A beautiful antique French bronze art plaque by the French sculptor Georges-Henri Prud'homme (1873 - 1947). Created after the 1st World War, in 1919, the plaque is celebrating Alsace as a French region, which possession was frequently contested between France and Germany during the 19th and 20th centuries. The front depicts an Alsatian woman in traditional head dress and the reverse side features a rooftop in Strasbourg with storks nesting and background church. The plaque is marked "bronze" on the edge and signed and dated by the artist on the front. Measurements are 2””x 2.5”.
