Description: Manuel Robbe, signed as Alphonse Lafitte, framed and wired Aquatint (sugar and ink etching), circa 1920s. Signed and numbered in pencil. This maritime theme artwork has an impressionist feel with blue tints and features sailboats. The matte has USS Isherwood inked on it. The framing was put together by Kaufmann’s Art Picture Department as noted by a decal under torn paper in back. There is also an inscription on the back torn paper. We are not art professionals and cannot grade the condition of this estate sale find other than to say the piece is beautiful, the matte looks aged, and the frame has handling wear.
