Ok, so we have a new problem with selling on this site, and I just double checked this possibility by doing what the bidder said he did during our last auction, apparently he waited till about a minute before the end of the auction to bid and he said there was no bid button to place a bid!!!!! ????? I thought this was just an excuse, and explained I do not have another. Sorry but I never heard of this happening until it just happend to me!!!!!!! Yes, so just now, I was doing a little shopping myself and saw a great price on an item so I wanted to bid on and steal the item right?! lol, basically SNIPE the item and guess what, I waited until the last minute to place a bid and the bid button was no where on the page! After the auction was over, I refreshed the listing to see what happened and instead of showing me what I just wanted to bid on, the final hammer, it steered me towards another item! ????? !!!! In fact, I could not click on that item without going to a different , but similar item. This is new to me, I am used to stumbling on and bidding at the last second and now I can't do this? What is the time cut-off? I haven't figured this out as yet but I plan to. I usually place a bid early if I see it early, a token bid so eBay contacts me and reminds me at which time I go check out the item price and see if I still want to bid. So I just experienced first hand that there are indeed things going on that are likely effecting the potential outcome of an auction during the last moments so in my opinion, auctions are worthless to me, auctions have been compromised if this is happening...... because I count on people who want to wait and bid at the last minute, this drives prices up, the auction begins during the last minute. (this is where the wildness happens, but apparently the system has tamed this and with higher fees on auctions, there does not seem any point in me using them anymore. Is this why a lot of big sellers are doing their own auctions? That being said, don't wait for me to list anything at no reserve again. Sorry, auctions no longer work. My apologies to the non-bidding buyer who I didn't believe. It's now BUY IT NOW ONLY/Best Offer, or it's not worth it. I may even consider bidding on more items early just so I can bid on them in the very end, knowing the last second new seekers may not be able to place a bid during the last seconds. I just witnessed a book that was selling for $65, which I was not allowed to bid on during the last 30 seconds, a book that is being offered by other sellers on eBay for $1200-1450.00! In fact, instead of letting me see what the book I was just looking at sold for, I was shown the $1450 option. ....as for the $65 book that sold for $86 (that was worth about $800ish)...if I was the seller and found this out, I would have a hard time ever listing at auction ever again. I don't think I will knowing this. Weird. If an item is not worth sweating on to wait until the final moments, knowing 3 people will be fighting at the last second, then the item is not of the highest interest. I wonder if they do this in the automotive category too.((((I just looked into this auction ending thing more and what happens is, if you are near the very end of an auction and click on the auction from the list of items, it will take you to a preview page WITHOUT A BID BUTTON, you need to click on the "see all details", tab (which is not in bold), but when you do click on that tab, the page details provides you a BID NOW button!!!!!!!!!! What is the point of this??????????? It's stupid and apparently, you don't figure this out until you lose something you wanted. Stupidity.
