SHAFFER SHOT DEAD PHOTOS BANGOR MAINE OCT 12, 1937 Click images to enlarge Description Offered for Sale are these 3, believed to be Original Photos from October 12, 1936 of the Brady Gang, shot dead on Central Street in Bangor Maine. This ambush by Bangor Police, Maine State Police, Indiana State Police and FBI agents outside Dakin Sporting Goods is documented by the Bangor Public Library digital department (just one resource documenting the shooting). If you visit that site, you will see similar photos to those for sale in this listing. One of the photos was printed on Velox Paper (marked on back) which aligns with the timeframe of this shooting. One photo is of Al Brady, another is of Clarence Lee Shaffer with the third being an overview of the street scene. Why do I believe these photos are original. These photos were represented as originals, taken by a photographer at the time of the shooting. Unfortunately, the provenance was verbal so I have no way to prove these are original photos other than the paper is right and the photo's are slight variations of those publicly posted online. I would surmise these were three of a number of photo's taken that day but not used. These Incredible Photos would be a Great Addition to any Historical Photo Collection. Condition: - Fair Overall Used Condition - The photo's display creasing, wrinkling, staining, discoloration and general wear throughout.
