Description: Vintage Akai Crossfield Reel to Reel Player with 8 track Model X1800 SD This does play the 8 track and speakers work but have static and the sound doesn't sound the greatest. Both speakers seem to work, and both knobs to adjust them do too. The reels also spin good. They also spin with play, fast forward, and rewind as should. Switches seem to work properly as well. Not real familiar with reel to reel recorders so I am selling it as is. Seems to function but not sure if it has any issues or is missing any parts. Now this was purchased from an estate sale and I do not know the history of this item. I know the home had at least 3 of these, I purchased two so far. They were stored away and the wooden box has a lot of water damage. The wooden cover is the worst where the veneer rippled. I am including it. I don't have any reels to see if they actually play and to see if it records. So I am selling this for parts or repair. Please see photos!
