Description: The only group known of air scouts [Latvian: Gaisa Skautu] was active almost four years, from 2010 to 2013, it was called "Pēteris Tomsons", in honor of one of the first military aviation pilots and hero of Latvian independence during The Soviet war of liberation (1918 - 1920). Latvian Scouting, despite its rapid growth after regaining independence in 1991, lacks of resources so specialized Scouting paid the bill. Nevertheless, there is the testimony of insignia: the historic diamond shape fleur-de-lis in silver for scouts and gold for rovers superimposed on the wings with the colors of the national flag, red wine and white. Scouters wore the same wings but the fleur-de-lis is bordered by a filigree in green. The metal badges are restricted. These badges were used ONLY by Senior Scouts, Rover Scouts and Air Scouters who hold the gliding association certification or a private pilot's license, or have qualified to wear pilot's wings. MINT
