Description: The information I have on this item is limited. It has only been owned by the recipient and the collector who has had it in their collection for a significant period of time. Unfortunately there is not much more information that I can provide beyond that. The recipient of the medal was not a collector and only knew that it was the medal he received. The best guess we have at this point is that the medal was some sort of prototype medal that ended up being issued along with the regular stock of Ace medals. It is of course possible that this was created by the squadron that awarded it, but there is no way to substantiate that. It is certainly an oddity and I would welcome any discussion or information that you can provide in regards to this item. Please refer to the scan(s)/picture(s) for the condition of all items.
