Description: This mask was purchased in 1984. We had it hanging in our house for about a year and after we moved we decided to put it into storage. The materials used in this mask is wood, fabric and bamboo. The mask has bamboo and fabric hair locks and a tribal marking on the forehead. The face of the mask is detailed with etchings in the wood displaying African motifs, tribal markings and white chalk.I was going to trim the hair that is coming out of the bamboo, but I decided to sell it the way it is. You could do that on your own if you want to.You can hang this mask on a wall, on a table or a countertop with a easel. We had it hanging on our wall. The only thing we can see wrong besides the hair needs to be trimmed is on the top of the head the fabric has a "small" hole in it. I think that is what was used to hang it on our wall. Other than that it is in pretty good condition for being over 40 years old.The mask is approx. 15" High X 11" wide and approx. 6" deep.It weighs almost 3 pounds. This would be a vintage collectors dream and I hope it goes to a good home.
