The image depicts a small group of Parisienne’s in the 1er arrondissement (Right Bank) waiting to fill up their buckets with wine. A very salient point is rue des Moineaux the very year of this etching “disparue” (disappeared) and was replaced with Avenue L’Opera. In fact, nearby rues de l’eveque, Des Orties, Des Moulins, as well as Des Moineaux - gone in 1876 to make way for Avenue L’Opera. I think the fountain called love is a cheeky way to describe the wine dispensary contraption - it too gone. Check out photographer Marville of Paris who recorded all the Haussmann changes in the day.
