Description: Perfect 8" Admiral George Dewey Plate from Tresserman & Vogt in Limoges. Initialed by an artist so hand colored transfer at a minimum. Very fine portrait. T&V was established in the 1850's in Montjovis, Limoges to produce high quality porcelain for the US market. The firm passed into new ownership in 1919. Their products sell in the antique market at strong prices. As it is not specifically marked "Limoges" it is possible that the plate was ordered as a blank and decorated in the USA, which makes it uncommon for T&V.
