Description: This is a vintage antique sample of patented antique barbed wire. This sample features a Harold A. Abbott patent, dated November 19, 1943. This wire is called Abbott's Four Point Kinked Single Line with Laced Loops" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier #117-B). This wire features a single stiff line which has off-setting kinks at barbing locations. Barbs are four pointed made from two barbing wires bent into loops and crossing over each other and wrapped around line wire. Wire sample shows light pitting to moderate. Barbs are well spaced and cut is well centered. There is some bending of barbing points, but no broken or missing points.
