Description: A Stunning Original Art Nouveau Early Edwardian Single Curtain Backdrop Panel A rare opportunity to aquire an original Art Nouveau Curtain Panel In original condition with a beautiful art nouveau floral repeat pattern in greens and yellows typical of the noveau early Edwardian Period. The material looks to be a linen type and has a redish fleck to it when examined closely. It has its original lining looking to be a thick cotton. The lining is come away at the bottom edges. This reveals the name of the manufacturer being Hans Oller. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find and information. The curtain could be used as is, as a backdrop panel or the material utilised for alternative interior decor. Condition Report Please note this is a curtain that has had a life of over 120 years and it does has its flaws as to be expected. So read carefully. The curtain has a few flaws, wear, abrasions and nibbles to the material. Please look at pictures 7 to 11 closely, zoom on etc for examples. There is also a little rust like spotting in a small area. The lining is much stained, mottled and has previously suffered mildew although it is dry and does not smell. It would be probably be best to get it re lined but I have kept the original so the original hand machined basic stitching can be seen for authenticity. Their is an added panel to the bottomof the curtain and there is fraying to where the 2 pieces are sewn (due to a lack of overlooking machinery). Again see photo.
