Description: Offered is the antique book "A Primary History-Stories of Heroism", written by William H. Mace and published by Rand McNally & Co. of Chicago. This is the 1915 edition of the book, first published in 1909. There are hundreds of small black and white illustrations and maps, as well as two different two-page color maps, one of the world and one of the United States. The book has a gray homemade cloth cover that has been sewn together for a custom fit (see photos #4 & #5); I don't know how old the cover is but it is probably vintage if not antique . Although there are several 1909 editions of the book for sale on eBay, at the time of original listing I could not find another 1915 edition for sale there and only one elsewhere. The book is approx. 7 1/2" x 6 3/4" and contains 396 pages, not including the index. It is in good to very good condition. The hard cover is covered by the book cover so I don't know its condition but it is presumably quite good given that it has been covered up. There is no cracking inside either the front or back cover. The white endpapers are moderately soiled. I see no missing or torn pages and all of the pages are well-attached to the binding except for the two-page map in the front, where approx. 1/4 of both pages are disconnected at the top; however, the remainder is firmly attached. The pages have yellowed slightly but are otherwise generally clean and clear. I see no writing in the book but there is some on the inside of the cloth cover. The homemade book cover has some light soiling and spotting but is still firmly in place. I have a lot of experience with vintage and antique books but am not an expert so please let me know if my description is missing information and you have additional questions.
