Description: A. HANNOTIAU Les Affiches Etrangeres 1897 Stone Litho Poster: "POUR L'ART EXHIBITION" This lithograph comes from: Les Affiches Etrangères Illustrées (Foreign Illustrated Posters) by MM. Bauwens, T. Hayashi, La Forgue, Meier Graefe & J. Pennel. Printed by Boudet in Paris in 1897. Lithos printed by Imprimerie Chaix, 1897. With Lorilleux Inks. This is an original color litho plate from this publication printed on vellum paper. Only 1,000 copies on vellum paper were printed. This one is #444 of that printing run. So you're getting one of only 1,000 similarly printed posters which make it scarce and highly desirable both as a collectible / frameable poster or as well as a wise investment. Les Affiches Etrangeres were printed in 1897 by Jules Cheret of the Chaix Imprimerie. The plates are printed in the stone lithography process. This stone lithograph is one of the 62 magnificent full-color plates from Les Affiches Étrangères. The prints were smaller reproductions of the larger street posters. Among the artists represented are Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Eugene Grasset, Fernand Toussaint, Dudley Hardy, Louis Rhead, Ethel Reed, Armand Rassenfosse, Henri Meunier, Edward Penfield, Henri Privat-Livemont, William Henry Bradley, Arthur Wesley Dow, and many more.
