Dennis Resided on O'ahu, Hawai'i, Where He Passed Away in April 2015. He Was Well Known For Once Carving Jade and Other Natural Materials For the Original Ming’s of Honolulu During the 1960s-1990s, Where he Honed His Skills During Those Many Years. He Also Provided His Technical Expertise For the Newly and Recently Resumed Ming's of Hawaii. Dennis Used Numerous Natural Materials in His Carvings as Well as the Very Tough and Dense Olmec Blue and Black Jades From Guatemala. Whether Taking 4-5 hours to Create a Natural Materials Makau (Fish Hook) or Several Hours Taken Just to Intricately Drill the Bail Hole For a Large Black Jade Piece, Each Hand-Carved Work-of-Art Was Painstakingly and Patiently Persevered Until Completion. As a Master Carver, Dennis Applied For Patents on His Unique Designs. All of His Creations Were Uniquely Hawaiian by Nature, Some With a Sense of Humor From His “Dead Fish” Design, to Others Being Highly Desired Including All of His Makau Fish Hook Shapes, Poi Pounders and His Patented Palaoa and Tiki Designs. With Each Hand-Carved Piece, He Created Simply Amazing Works-of-Art. Each and Every Piece Was 100% Unique in its Own Right; Not Mass-Produced. His Works Reflected the Passion and Love He Had as a Well-Renowned Local Hawaiian Master Carver. Aside From Being Humble and a Great Human Being, He Was Also a Teacher Who Provided Background Information on Each and Every Design. His Unyielding Passion For Carving Was Mesmerizing to Viewers, Both Alluring and Surreal.
