The lens is large and quite heavy and was intended for low-light industrial and medical applications. As such it was designed for maximum resolution and minimum aberrations when wide open (unlike other fast lenses that give better performance at f5.6 - f8 and degrade significantly at low f-numbers). NOTE: I had two of these, and one is sold. The first 4 pictures are of the sold. lens. Pictures 5 and 6 are of this remaining lens for sale. It is the same in all respects to the first lens, except the large external thread has not been machined off, and it has two tripod mount positions (90 deg. apart). It weighs 4 lb 1 oz. Here is an online review:The lens is surprisingly good. It has very soft bokeh, but center focus is quite sharp, and the corners are not anywhere near as bad as with a Petzval lens. The lens is also quite contrasty and resistant to flare, and on full frame has surprisingly little vignetting.
