Description: 9 lbs 14oz 10" x 6" x 6" This is a listing for an unique petrified wood limb cast with smoky quartz separated by a vivid red band. Vibrant yellow, orange and red minerilalzation swirls around this specimen. It is from Yellow Cat Utah Utah, famous for this unique mineralization. Tiffany's once had a mine there. It is a very large specimen. While this material does have fractures, it is great material to slab, cab or flaten and polish. See my store for examples of worked specimens. They often are translucent, and you can see depth of the mineralization. I'm listing my raw material until I have time to work it. If it goes on sold I plan to grind it flat and polish it as a display specimen (per my wife's request). It was purchased from a 2nd generation rock store owner in southern Utah.
