I think it converts AC to DC to quickly heat up a dead or very cold battery. I would think of a small lift truck that never gets revved up enough to charge anything. Or a laptop that doesn't have much down time and needs to be charged quickly. But I don't know is my best answer. It has a fairly incredible input range I know that much. So I am leaning toward an undercharged laptop. They have a very large range of input. You can plug a laptop into 110 or 220, but once it sets, it stays there. So once a 240 always a 240. Google it.
