Description: Blitz-Weinhard’s Beer was first brewed in Portland, Oregon in 1856. After several business transitions, in 1976 Henry’s Private Reserve beer became available to the public and was considered to be Oregon’s first craft beer. Today the beer (under the Henry’s Private Reserve name) is being brewed in Eugene, Oregon by the Hop Valley brewery. These 8 unused sticker-type printed pieces were created in the 1970s. On 4 of the stickers someone has written in pencil “6-3-77”. I have seen one of these (4 1/4 by 3 3/4) stickers affixed to a piece of brass; attached to a chain; and then hung on a beer tap. I believe that these stickers were never sold in a retail store. I believe these were a printing over-run from that original purpose outlined above. The small brass Blitz Weinhard sign is, also, vintage but never used. Printed on the bottom are the words: “Blitz-Weinhard Co. Portland, Oregon” it has 4 corner holes for affixing it to something. Unique finds! “Cheers”
