This is one from the collection. To view the others from this collection simply search my store for the words " Cornely lace " This textile is from France and dates form the late 1800's to early 1900's ~ C1900 a beautiful whitework hand embroidered cornelli lace work Chateau window length Curtain. Entirely hand stitched onto a fine Indian muslin ground and hand embroidered in cotton with trailing floral motifs worked in chain stitch. I love the many patterns these reveal~ This textile is elegant and rare ~ These curtains were highly popular in France in the 19th and early 20th century. Because they are so light , they do not often survive without signs of time and use ~ These curtains were most often used as bed hangings ~ MEASUREMENTS : This lovely lace curtain panel measures approximately75 inches long by 28 inches wide CONDITION ~ This panel is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. There are small holes in places on this panel! Please use the zoom feature on the photographs to see exact condition ~*~ Signs of time and use are often inherent in these wonderful textiles!
