Description: EACH BUYER GETS 7 BEADS In the late 1700's to mid-1800’s, these beads became known as the Hudson’s Bay bead because of the large amount traded to the Indians by the company. This bead has two distinct colors of glass, one color over the other. The outer layer was red and the inner layer a translucent green. One of the most prevalent types of multilayered Venetian beads is the green heart. The earliest examples, which were probably made in the 17th century, had an opaque red exterior and a green interior, and the thin tubes or small, round beads were produced by drawing or winding. In the 1820s and 1830s, the colors changed to a translucent red exterior and an ivory to white interior. Here is a very nice collection of (7) pre-1700 ancient Indian trade beads. The surface shows a very nice patina with signs of age. Each bead is unique and different. A fine collection of artifacts for your collection. My father left these artifacts and many many more items to me and I am passing them along to you. I hope my customers will enjoy their purchase.
