Description: This listing is for the 6907 Glow-Bulb Regenerative Receiver that you see in the photos. It uses plug-in coils to achieve a spectrum coverage of approximately 250 khz to 15.0 mhz. Some photos may show the 832 dual pentode tube, which is interchangeable with the 6907 in this circuit. This radio includes the high impedance piezo headset that you see in the photos. You may also use headphones of the 2 to 4K ohms inductive type. This 6907 dual pentode twinplex circuit is a super performer. It compares with the 815 and 832 radios that you will see on some of my other listings. In this circuit, one pentode serves as the detector, while the second pentode is the audio amplifier. Always use battery power when possible. A little outboard ac supply is okay so long as the rectified dc it is well filtered and kept at a couple of feet or so away from the radio. Regen receivers like to pick up ac hum from transformers when close by, so I always use batteries where possible. The only power needed for this radio circuit is 12 to 14 volts dc, at about 1.2 amps, continuous duty. You may be able to use one of those wal-wart type switching power packs, so long as it doesn't generate noise that can be picked up by the highly sensitive regen detector. I can sometimes get by with this type of power supply, but not always. You will need a wire antenna at least 25 ft. long and a good earth ground. You'll pick up more stations with a longer antenna, 50 to 100' in length. On shortwave I'm able to copy tons of stations in the early evening and early morning hours, including stations on the amateur radio bands. The fine tuning control will allow you to clarify ssb and cw signals. Operating controls for this circuit are main tuning, fine tuning, regen control with on/off switch, and antenna coupling. These 6907 power pentode tubes make great regenerative receivers. I will include a hand sketched schematic diagram, along with drawings which indicate the various controls and connectors.
