Description: For sale is a vintage Alan aluminum bicycle. For it's time this was a very light weight bike compared to it's steel peers. The frame size (seat tube measured center to center) is 62cm. The top tube is 60cm measured center to center. Stand over height from the top of the top tube to the ground is 880mm. We sold this bike new in 1974 and have been the only shop to have ever serviced it. The rear derailleur, crank set, bottom bracket, seat post, shift levers, brake calipers and brake levers are Campagnolo Nuovo Record. The front derailleur is Campagnolo Super Record. The hubs are Normandy Maillard 700 Team Issue with Giant alloy QR's. Spokes are DT with Mavic GP40 36 hole rims. Tires are brand new clincher Vittoria Zaffiro's sized 700 x 23. There is clearance to go to 28c tires. Head set is a brand new Tange Levin. Handle bar (64-40) and stem (model 1A: 95mm long) are from Cinelli. The seat is new from Cannondale. Handlebar tape is new S-wrap padded tape by Specialized. The fork was replaced in 1975 with a chrome plated Reynolds 531 model made by Holdsworth in England. The original fork wasn't stiff enough and on this sized bike when going fast it would go into harmonics. This Reynolds 531 fork fixed the issue. The crank set is 170mm with 42/52 tooth chain rings which have minimal wear. The freewheel is an almost new 6 speed Regina Synchro with 13-15-17-19-21-23 tooth sprockets. Chain is a new Sram. This bike is in excellent condition. Mechanically it is very tight. It has never been crashed. Look carefully at the pictures and please ask any questions. This bike will be professionally packed. No returns or refunds.
