Description: 5 Nice New Year Antique Postcards, UND Backs. 1906 era. Gold/Silver trim. Bird This is a nice selection of NEW YEAR postcards that are ANTIQUE from the early 1900s. This mixture has the classic New Year motifs such as: RURAL SCENES, HOLLY & BERRIES, FLOWERS, BIRD, etc. The postcards are nicely drawn, and they have good detail that makes them pleasing to look at. Two of them are EMBOSSED, and one has GOLD and one SILVER trim in the design. They were made by different publishers. These are good postcards to add to a collection. They would appeal to collectors because of their age, their colorful and attractive nature, and the way they capture life back in the early 1900s. Overall, a nice selection of antique New Year postcards at a reasonable price. A nice feature of this lot is that these all have UNDIVIDED BACKS. Postcards with UNDIVIDED BACKS were used from 1901-1907. An undivided back is a good indicator of the age of the postcard and its historical significance. During this time period, ONLY THE ADDRESS could be put on the back, and any written message had to be done on the front of the postcard. These type of postcards are collector items because of their age, and because of the limited number of such postcards in existence today. Also, collectors like to own postcards that were published in the beginning years of the postcard hobby. The postcards are UNPOSTED (1) and POSTED (4) with cancel dates of 1906. Most of these postcards would have been "Printed in Germany". Three of these were published by Illustrated Postal Cards. These are BETTER POSTCARD and good for a collector. The postcards will keep their value! They are sleeved and in good condition. However, please expect some creases, cuts, stains and edge wear due to their age. The photos show the postcards and the backs. The postcards are shipped in a sturdy envelope. We only ship within the USA; we do not ship internationally. USA shipping is with tracking, and we use eBay Standard Envelope mail when the value is under $20 and the weight is under 3 oz; and, we use USPS First Class mail when the value is over $20 or the weight is over 3 oz.
