Description: Sale is for 5 matching, vintage 1980s ceramic backplates made in Japan. The color is an off white bone or ivory shade. I’ve set one of the backplates on a piece of paper so the color and shade can be better judged. There is a floral design on the front. The flowers are light pink, light lavender and light orange. The backplates measure 1 15/16” across the backs and are a little over 1/4” thick. Four of the backplates are in very nice vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs that I could find. One of the backplates has a hairline crack in it, as shown in photos. The crack is so light that it’s hardly visible to the naked eye. I only found it when I was editing the photos, as my camera picks up tiny details on objects. This particular medallion is very solid, however, no wiggle or give to it where the crack is. Because of age and prior use there are some discolorations on the medallion’s backs and the wells, both of which are unglazed, so are unprotected. The discolorations are down into the ceramic and won’t rub off. As these discolorations will not be visible during use when mounted and knobs are put on, I personally don’t consider this a major flaw, but judge for yourself. Please view all photos!
