Description: This is a group of 5 fully polished gemstone pieces of Burmese (Burmite) amber that contain various fossil insect inclusions that lived during the time of the dinosaurs. The fossils include a piece with 2 flies, a second piece with a beetle, a third piece with a wasp, a piece with a barklouse, and a fifth piece with a thrip insect that all lived with the dinosaurs.It is fascinating to note that these insects were around when dinosaurs were still walking the Earth including T-Rex and Triceratops! The pieces weigh a total of 2.5 grams with approximate lengths between 1 and 1.6 cm length. (Burmese) amber is difficult to acquire and has been dated to be Cretaceous in age (around 100 million years old) and would have been sticky resin during the time of the dinosaurs and is being mined in the Hukawng Valley in Myanmar (Burma).
