Description: 48hp Evinrude/Johnson lower unit, good shape- REDUCED FROM $225 This supposedly was taken off an '88 48hp Evinrude outboard (that's what I was told-I bought it to replace mine but it doesn't fit). According to the model number on it, it came off a 45 HP. And according to interchange charts I've looked at could fit the following: HP YEARS FIT 40/48/50 1989-1992 40/48/50 1993-2005 Shifts as it's supposed to (very important) and gear oil was clean (also very important). The water pump has been disassembled, inspected and reassembled/resealed, looks to be in good shape and should operate fine, but of course you are encouraged to check it yourself. Water pump rebuild kits are cheap ($30 or so on ebay) so it's worth it to get that right especially when the lower unit is off the outboard and accessible. The gearing and water-to-oil seals of course are the important parts and they seem in good shape. Also the skeg is not all beat up. These (if you can find them) sell anywhere from $400-600 all day long. If you need further details, email me. I'll get whatever you need.
