This is an antique American sterling silver demitasse spoon by the famous silversmiths, Gorham, about 4-1/8" long. Demitasse spoons were originally made for small coffee cups, but these days have found new life as condiment, salt, pepper and other uses, in addition to the original use with today's popular coffee and tea drinks. It has a detailed floral handle. It is in the popular Buttercup pattern, introduced in 1900. It is about 4-1/8" long. Maker's marks: "Sterling" and "Pat. 1900" with the old lion-anchor-G hallmark for Gorham, a prominent American silversmith. Weight: about 10.0 grams of sterling silver. Engraving: Very tiny "W" monogram on the front of the handle. Condition: Very good, minor wear.
