The present Mississippi is shown in a darker tone. The map is divided into three sections with dates 1798, 1804, and 1812, indicating the growth of the Territory. Superimposed on the map is the original seal of the Territory on which the second double "s" of Mississippi appears as a single "s." To the right is a portrait of Winthrop Sargent, first governor of Mississippi Territory. Plain envelope featuring four stamp block of 3-cent scott 955 stamps, with day of issue cancellation, April 7, 1948 and typewriter address. In good clean condition.
