Description: 3738 National Musical String Co. banjo 4th string wrapper New Brunswick, NJ This is a very, very difficult format of ephemera to find for two reasons. Because it was a wrapper around a banjo string, it was usually destroyed in the process of taking the string out. But also, the paper is extreme tissue paper. It is so light and delicate, its destruction was almost guaranteed. The string, banjo 4th, was “wound on steel”, and is referred to as the Bell Brand Silver Toned string. I think this paper dates to c. 1915, but I am not sure. Excellent condition. This piece has been correctly pressed, and is in very presentable condition. The scan images tend to be harsher than what is actually there. Any paper discoloration, or stains show as darker than in real life. Also, paper wrinkles tend to be exaggerated. All items original to period - No reproductions sold in my store.
