32" CHURCH Antique Italy Carve Wood Gold Gilt Madonna Jesus Child Statue Figure

Description: A Rare Older Vintage Antique Italy Made Carved Wood Gold Gilt Madonna with Jesus Child Statue Figure. The statue measures about 32" tall x 10" x 8.5" at the base. It was probable made around the 1930's. he item has the original sticker underneath that reads "Italy" (see pic 23). The statue is polychrome, Mary and Jesus have green eyes, the pillow and tassels are light green metallic type color, with mostly gold sheet layers. I've listed in details all the "major" defects as follows.The back side from the base up, has three (the one on the far left is minor)5" vertical cracks in the wood (see pic 19). Pic 15 shows an about 3" crack around her right arm. Just above the three vertical cracks described, there is a zig zag crack of about 7" (see pic 18). Jesus is missing a thumb (pic 21). Mary's left hand has a "V" crack of about 2" + 2" crack (see pic 16). Jesus has a crack on his right arm (see pic 17). There's an about 1" crack on her left mid side drape as shown in pic 20. There are other flaws such as paint loss, or paint flakes such as shown in pic 24. Otherwise the statue is sturdy, ready to display including the flaws. It weighs about 18 lbs before packaging.
