Probably much more ornate than the historical versions but great for re-enactment, stage or display. Other Sellers state it's a Pirates of the Caribbean replica and it certainly looks like it could be, I'm trying to find a reference. Factory edge (unsharpened) to make it safer for intended purpose. Solid and well made for cosplay and soft targets, not designed for hard use. Great looking cutlass, Jack Sparrow would have been proud to carry! Widespread use on the seas due to it's versatility in the close quarters of ships; cutting, slashing, pummeling (punching with guard), striking with pommel. Comments: Very nicely done.
