Description: A full set in three volumes, Le Musee du Louvre Depuis: 1914 & 1920: Dons, Legs, et Acquisitions (Louvre Museum: Donations, Legacies and Acquisitions after 1914 and 1920). Good condition, sale includes the exact three volumes shown (full set). Large portfolio size with covers measuring about 18.25" by 13.25"; they weigh bout 12 pounds each. Bindings have some issues (as is common with this style), with breakages along all hinges. Some loose threads of canvas at breakage points as shown. Tome I has lost most of the board of the spine with only about a quarter of the bottom section remaining. Tome III has had a hasty repair with tape at some point along the back hinge (see 9th photo). Some age related discoloration to covers as shown. Ties are all present; the back tie at the top of Tome III has been cut in about half (still able to be tied as is). Nearly complete pages, unbound with 149 of the original 150 loose prints (plate 47 from Tome II is missing). Plates generally have very nice white color/ only minor toning with some examples of foxing/spots of discoloration (as seen in last photo) and some shadow imprints on pages opposite prints. Toning to deckled page edges. Due to value of this lot signature will be required upon receipt of delivery. This will be shipped in multiple boxes to ensure safe transport.
