Description: In the 1970's, there was HUGE surge in TROLLS. Trolls of all kinds. Plastic trolls, glass trolls, ceramic trolls, and... all kinds of wooden trolls. They were made in Norway, Switzerland, Germany, and other places. There were crafting books published devoted solely to making gnomes and trolls. These three are from that era, and are really adorable. They are slightly creepy, and sweet, at the same time. They all have red hats, and would be great to display, especially at Christmas. Since they are small, they can fit just about anywhere. They are fun to poke into corners, peeking out! These are very nicely done! I wish I could make out the artist. They are marked Carved By Hand Norway. Trolls are a BIG part of Norwegian Folk Lore, with mountains being named after them. Many of the craggy mountains and rock formations look like trolls! Tourists go there every year, just to see the trolls. Are they good luck? I don't know! The Norwegians are very careful not to treat them badly! The tallest one is 4", while the other two are 3 3/4" and 3 1/2". They are carved from solid wood.
