Description: This is a collection of an elderly lady who had travelled extensively in her youth. She was Roman Catholic and said some of the Italian medals had been purchased in Rome and were supposedly blessed by the Pope. I believe she herself was French and moved to the States in her teenage years, so the French medallions may well be older. The Ste. Therese says “je veux passer mon ciel a faire du bien sur la terre.” If my French holds up it says “I want to spend my heaven doing good on earth.” Please look at the photos and ask any questions you may have. I debated about cleaning and polishing but decided that is best left to you. There may be some medallions that are in some language other than English, French or Italian but were too tarnished to decipher. There’s one extra big medallion that is commemorating the opening of the Panama Canal. Some of the medallions could possibly be sterling silver.
