Chocolate Mimosa trees are a member of the Albizia julibrissin family and are an extremely popular ornamental trees for landscaping. Popular names for these trees are, Albizia silk, or Persian silk trees. They bear lovely feathery, wispy pink to rose colored aromatic flowers in the summer. Ideal for USDA planting zones 6 through 10. Mimosa can reach heights of 6-12 m (20-40 ft). Sprouts can grow over one meter (3 ft) in a season. Trunks may be single or multiple stems. They can provide light shade and add a beautiful burst of color amongst other deciduous or evergreen trees, or can be used as a specimen by itself.
