Description: 2024 SARRACENIA SEEDS: PURP HYBRID #2 X PURP HETEROPHYLLA [CARNIVOROUS PLANT SEED] Code: 313: 24HP09 This listing includes: One pack of approximately 30 Sarracenia seeds from the following cross: Mother (pod) plant: S. purpurea hybrid #2 A purpurea hybrid I made in 2010 using one of my darkest purpurea. The other parent of this plant was very likely Judith Hindle, but I am not certain. Very purpurea dominant. Ornate and interesting coloration made up of warm colors. Pitchers are long lasting. Father (pollen) plant: S. purpurea ssp. purpurea f. Heterophylla Neon colored. Quite vigorous for a purp. Hardy and flowers reliably for me. Pitchers are on the larger side and are long lasting. 1st picture shows the two parent plants. 2nd picture shows the mother (pod) parent. 3rd picture shows the father (pollen) parent. 4th picture shows an example of the seeds you will get (not the quantity). 5th picture shows an example of how I bag my Sarracenia flowers in the spring. This cross was made in the Spring of 2024 and the seeds were harvested when ripe later in the same year. The cross was done carefully by hand. All manual crosses had bagged flowers to avoid any unwanted pollen contamination by nature. After harvest and drying, the seeds have been stored dry in the fridge to maximize longevity and viability. These seeds have NOT been stratified. You will need to do that yourself. I have been growing Sarracenia for 15 years and my goal is to make quality seeds and plants affordable to anyone that is interested in growing these amazing plants.
