NZ Mint trading coins are a new initiative of the NZ Mint / Agoro in partnership with Niue. They are designed to be trading coins so that collectors can trade to obtain full sets. There has been six issues to date:The first was Star Wars in August 2023 followed by a Marvel edition, then DC Comics, Harry Potter, Disney, UFC and a LOTR release due shortly. Each set has the same composition, that being:10 different coins with a mintage of 250 each, 10 different coins of 150 each, 10 different coins of 50 each, 10 different coins of 30 each, 10 different coins of 20 and finally 1 coin of 10 each which is made of 1/4oz Gold. So for each set there are a total of 51 different designed coins to collect with a total mintage of 5010 all up. Coins are originally sold as a boxed set of two meaning on release only 2505 sets are sold. Each set is sealed so the buyer does not know what he will receive until he opens it. These coins are extremely popular is the USA with many be professionally graded and selling for big dollars. These are still in the early days of release and popularity will increase as more collectors become aware. This coin will be sent in its original fabric sleeve but without the original box.
