Description: 2023 SARRACENIA SEEDS: FLAVA CUPREA X (FLAVA X ALATA) [CARNIVOROUS PLANT SEED] Code: 12: 23FH04 This listing includes: One pack of approximately 30 Sarracenia seeds from the following cross: Mother (pod) plant: S. flava var. cuprea This is a clone sourced from Meadowview Biological Research Station. In its prime, it shows an orange copper color with great contrast with the yellow in the mouth of the pitchers. Father (pollen) plant: S. flava x alata This plant has some awesome contrast between the tube/hood VS the lip VS the inner mouth. It’s a very colorful plant showing all warm colors: orange, yellow, and red. Produces pitchers all growing season long thanks to the mixed seasonality genetics. 1st picture shows the two parent plants. 2nd picture shows the mother (pod) parent. 3rd picture shows the father (pollen) parent. 4th picture shows an example of the seeds you will get (not the quantity). 5th picture shows an example of how I bag my Sarracenia flowers in the spring. This cross was made in the Spring of 2023 and the seeds were harvested when ripe later in the same year. The cross was done carefully by hand. All manual crosses had bagged flowers to avoid any unwanted pollen contamination by nature. After harvest and drying, the seeds have been stored dry in the fridge to maximize longevity and viability. These seeds have NOT been stratified. You will need to do that yourself. I have been growing Sarracenia for 15 years and my goal is to make quality seeds and plants affordable to anyone that is interested in growing these amazing plants.
