The inscription “E PLURIBUS UNUM” is intentionallypositioned over the Earth next to the U.S., indicating that Ride was the firstAmerican woman in space. SALLY RIDE.”ThisAmerican Women Quarters Two-Roll Set – Dr. Sally Ride contains single rolls of40 uncirculated coins each, for a total of 80 coins in each set. They areminted at the Philadelphia and Denver Mints.Thecommon obverse (heads) depicts a portrait of George Washington. This design wasoriginally composed and sculpted by Laura Gardin Fraser as a candidate entryfor the 1932 quarter, which honored the bicentennial of George Washington’sbirth. The inscriptions are “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and “2022.”
