The postcard was printed in the USA and was machine canceled from Olympia, WA. on May 13, 2003.The postcard was addressed, with a hand-written message and posted to the state of California, USA. The postcard contains one stamp that was machine canceled from Olympia, WA. on May 13, 2003. The used Washington type of 2001 stamp is: Scott # 3616, 23¢ green issued in 1992 Postcard dimensions are: 6" x 4" borderless. Or, 153mm x 102mm.We base our grading on the condition of corners and edges of the Postcards. Based on the following grading system, we rate this particular offered postcard conservatively as AVERAGE TO EXCELLENT CONDITION. All four corners show light wear and the edges are straight and smooth. On the reverse side there are multiple small scuff marks on the far right edge that resulted when the postcard was processed through one of the US Postal Service machines for sorting/routing purposes. This is not an uncommon issue with postcards that go through the automated processing machines. The scuff marks results in a thin of the cardstock and is the main reason the seller has given the item a grade of average to excellent condition (image #3). The stamp is in excellent used condition and was not affected by the scuff marks from the machine. The backside has hand writing in black ink and is in overall very good condition. This item would be a nice addition to a collector's postcard collection.Grade 1 - Mint Condition These postcards have perfect or nearly perfect corners and edges. Postcards of this grade may be postal used or unused and may have writing on front and/or back. There may be light yellowing from age or from being in an album. Grade 2 - Near Mint Condition Postcards of this grade have light corner and/or edge wear. These postcards are still in nice condition. They may have writing on front and/or back. There may also be light yellowing from age. Grade 3 - Excellent Condition Average condition postcards have more corner and/or edge wear than Grade 2. Corners may have a lot of wear or roundness from wear. These cards may also have a lot of yellowing from age or from being in an album. Very tips of cards may have slight indentations from wear. There are no creases in the card at this grade. Grade 4 - Average Condition These postcards have a light crease or creases. Some may have light corner wear and / or yellowing from age or from being in an album. Grade 5 - Poor Condition These postcards have faults such as a missing corner, heavy corner and / or heavy edge wear or a tear.
