Many of the commentators appear on the sides of the Talmud text itself, as there is room for them due to the wide margins, but many have their own designated places at the rear of these tomes. Each volume includes the two most important legal decisors in history, whose works have now become separate studies in their own right, namely the Halachic works of Rabbi Asher Ben Yechiel of France/Germany (13th century), and the Magnum Opus of Alfasi (R' Yitzhak Alfasi of Fez Morocco, 11th century). These two great works also accumulated many dedicated commentators over the years, who analyzed their decisions, words, and opinions, and this set incorporates all these mainstay commentators, at the appropriate locations as well. It includes Maimonodies' work on the Mishnah, his introduction to the Mishnah, and the very important Tosefta and its subsidiaries as well, all relating to that specific tract. It also includes the entire Mishnah to which no Talmud was ever authored, and with the very important explanatory notes by the foremost and important personalities over history. The additional authors and commentators on the Talmud, in some volumes make up as much as, or more, than the amount of pages of the Talmud itself in that volume. There are approximately 700 to 800 pages in each volume in total, some with 900. This is the largest set of this all-encompassing work of the Talmud, all in Hebrew, that you will ever find. Excellent multi-color speckled dye page edges when closed. Condition: The volumes are in excellent condition. The pages are very clean and bright. The clarity and paper are a pleasure to study from. Binding is excellent. It has beautiful and strong covers, no wear or rips to spine tops or bottoms. A few volumes may have tanning to hinge area of blank page only. There may be minor spots, scuffs, or other imperfections due to handling, but no wear. This set's pages are extremely clean. Bottom of spines show no wear from sliding on a shelf. There is no staining anywhere on the interior pages and no writing at all. All title pages and half-title pages are very clean and in perfect condition. All pages have pointed corners, no dog-eared pages, creased, or wrinkled pages. The pages are from a very light cream, textured stock, which is also very easy on the eyes. Good quality print. Binding is excellent. Very nice and expensive, decorative paper was used for this set. Published by M.P. Press, with printing beginning and ending between the years 1972-1985. They measure 16" x 11.5" x approx. 2" each volume. Total width of all of the volumes, for those wondering how much space is needed, is just over 33 inches wide. Set will be shipped in five separate boxes, each box carefully packaged with a lot of cushioning, so as to preserve their excellent condition.
