Description: Offered for sale is a set of 3 Collectible Irish porcelain pieces. Two egg cots or coddlers and one trinket dish, all marked "Made in Ireland," matching in color and design and assumed to all be manufactured by the Wade company (established in 1867 in Bursem, England; Irish factory opened in Ulster in the 1930's: company dissolved in 2022.) The date of manufacture of these particular pieces is unknown, possibly the 1960's. An egg coddler is a porcelain pottery cup with a lid to prepare a dish called coddled eggs. It lightly cooks an egg when it is cracked in the ramekin and placed in a bath of water below boiling temperature or bain-marie. The pieces have lovely rich colors of, green, browns, and blues with a smooth glossy finish. There is a row of shamrock leaves that surround the top of the footed ramekin. They have a screw lid for sealing. One is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. The other has chips on the inside of the lid, which do not show when the lid is placed on the base, and is otherwise in excellent condition. The trinket dish in the same design is in excellent condition. May be used to store salt or condiments, or simply displayed as charming Irish collectibles. For all I know there may be a leprechaun or faerie living in one of them. Approximate coddler measurements: 4 3/4" tall x 2 1/2" diameter (lid), 1 3/4" (base). .
